This is intended to be constructive criticism and it is not my intention to insult or belittle anyone/anything. So, with that in mind, please don't take this the wrong way but...this site is seriously overloaded. The total size of the homepage alone is almost 1 megabyte. That's insanely large.

Check out this...

tools.pingdom.com/?url=www.aaotts.com&am...ype=0&save=false

When I tried checking the AAOTTS site, the Pingdom tool timed out. I know it's not my decision but you may want to consider rethinking some of the design to remove some of the clutter. Not everything needs to be on the homepage.

Again, I hope this doesn't piss anyone off (i.e., TitanTree or anyone else involved in the site's design). I do appreciate the AAOTTS site/community has done to improve AA...and it has done a lot! I just think the site design could be a little cleaner.

Thanks for the feedback, I'd like the community to get involved and help out with the site more, perhaps this is a chance for things to move forward in that respect.

I've made some temp changes to speed things up for now, more focus and feedback is needed before doing more changes.

I'm away with work for a few weeks, its a good chance for AAOTTS to start a discussion about where things should be heading in terms of design and what features are needed on the site.

That site is handy thanks zonker, we finish loading now at least.

Pointing out that the logo up at the top IMO doesn't match too well... seems like you have this light blue/gray color scheme and then this sort of dark yellow logo at the top doesn't match

Same goes for the clocks (except for the aussie one lol), but it isn't as noticeable with them down there

The new design looks great though

Kinda naked tho. Logo related stuff should be back as it was, site was great, but if that "costs" too much loading time, don't care of my words.
cheers, S.

Anyway, people talking about the homepage, but now if you enter the site the page that opens is Forums>Categories. Dunno why.

Well, here I am, anonymous all right. With guys nobody really cares about. They come from the end of the line, most of 'em. Small towns you never heard of: Pulaski, Tennessee; Brandon, Mississippi; Pork Van, Utah; Wampum, Pennsylvania. Two years' high school's about it, maybe if they're lucky a job waiting for them back at a factory, but most of 'em got nothing. They're poor, they're the unwanted, yet they're fighting for our society and our freedom. It's weird, isn't it? They're the bottom of the barrel and they know it. Maybe that's why they call themselves grunts, cause a grunt can take it, can take anything. They're the best I've ever seen, Grandma. The heart & soul. - Platoon

Hi,

Things are a little half backed, the current site template has been simplified. This is not intended to be final, but more a stop gap to ensure things could run smooth while I'm away with work and have limited time to monitor.

Logos... I'm happy to have some suggestions put forward, perhaps make one and post it for us all to have a look.

Thanks for the feedback so far.

TT
